NO Chains Required!

Off to Critter Cabin we go!
The sun is out and time to get some of our trees around the cabin cut.
As we are driving to Critter Cabin we notice that the snow is gone all around the area. We hope that we don't have to chain up around the pond again. There was lots of ice in that area last time. As we travel to the pond area, no snow or ice in sight! Yes!!!! NO chains today! The road is soft from all the water so we make sure that we stay in the road suface and not wander off the edge of the road.

Pat gets started on trees out back by the propane tank. With only a few feet to work in without getting to close to the propane tank. He gets all the trees cut and limbed without any trouble. Josh is there to help him out with a line on the trees so that they make sure and go away from the cabin and the propane tank.

After getting the few trees cut in the back, Pat and Josh move to the side of the cabin and start cutting some trees that lean towards the cabin.

The old saw is still doing a great job after all these years.

Pat is leaving the stump high for me. I want to put a bird feeder on it.

After getting all the trees cut and things picked up. Nate and I go for a walk to the pond area to see if there is any deer around. Five are standing by the little pond. We throw rocks on the ice, wow it is still really frozen! The deer start walking towards the cabin, Nate and I decide to leave and head back to see where the deer are going. As we near the cabin, the deer are waiting by the fence. I think that they want their chips! I grab and bag full and walk over to the tree where we dump them. Here they come!

Thanks for the treats!
Oh, by the way, do you remember Split Ear~~my fawn from last year! He is here with me today!

Nate was helping me feed chips. Boy they are really friendly today. The deer came to within 5 feet of us.

What a great way to end the day!
Now if you look close you can see that Split Ear is a Buck. Not good news for him. Maybe, just maybe he can become a pet deer?

We load up everything and get on our way about 5:00. Knowing that dark will arrive soon. It was a great day at Critter Cabin. Pat and Josh cut 8 trees, limbing and also cutting 3 loads of wood. We will try and get back real soon to finish the rest of the trees.

Stay tuned for the rest of the story!
