Over the ICE and through the SNOW~Critter Cabin here we COME!

The day has arrived to cut some danger trees around Critter Cabin.
We take off at a early hour in the morning. We have plans to do lots of falling, cutting and piling today. Of course we have to chain up again ~ that is a given this time of year. Seems that the roads are all iced up in the shaded areas. It has been really cold lately so lots of frozen snow along the sides of the road. After arriving at Critter Cabin, we build a fire and unload our food and get our saws ready for the day. The wind starts to blow some ~~ great~~ how can this  be? Guess that we will have to work on trees away from the Cabin.

This area by the pond is always an icy spot. There must be a spring that runs out of the side of the hill. This makes for a scary turn around the corner and up the hill. Be careful Pat and don't fall down on that ice! After this walk on the road, we both put on our cork-boots! Thank God for those boots. Makes it so nice to walk around and not worry about falling down.

The pond is frozen over. I think that we should gather up some ice skates and have a party on it!

Now this spider thinks that Spring has Sprung!! Well, I have news for him~~ NOT YET! He had better hurry back to his chunk of wood to hide in for several more months.

This is Gaylene and Tate. They have come to help with the clean up and to pick up some wood. I think that they had a great time.

Now does this look like a Mountain Man? Josh is here to help Pat cut the trees.

Pat getting ready to fall a tree. As per Doctors orders~~ he is exercising his back and wearing a wrist brace. He fell four nice trees and Josh and Laura cut the limbs up.

TIMBER ~~~~~~~!!!
Tree out back by the Long Drop Lodge!

With all the snow ~ you couldn't hear the tree hit the ground! The poof of snow was awesome though!

Can everybody see the whole moon in this Photo!

Very fun day at Critter Cabin.
Got lots done, even though we still  have lots of limbs to cut up and haul away. We had a great lunch with some good friends. I hope that the snow stays away so that we can continue to come often to our great little hide out in the woods!
